Frequently Asked Questions

For general administrative questions not answered below, you may email Rosemary@WideAwakeTherapy.com. Please do not include sensitive clinical or health information.

Wide Awake Therapy | Christian Counseling, PLLC primarily offers virtual counseling to adults ages 18 and older. Virtual counseling sessions are available to clients who are physically located in Texas at the time of service. In-person sessions may be available by request and are generally scheduled after an initial virtual consultation. Prospective-client consultations are scheduled through Headway.

The consultation is a brief, introductory conversation rather than a therapy session. We will discuss what you are generally seeking support with, answer questions about my approach and services, and determine whether scheduling an intake appointment seems appropriate. Consultations are scheduled through Headway.

No. The complimentary consultation is an opportunity to briefly discuss your needs, ask general questions, and determine whether my services may be a good fit. Scheduling or completing a consultation does not by itself establish an ongoing therapist-client relationship. If we decide to move forward, you will complete the appropriate intake and informed-consent process before counseling begins.

Wide Awake Therapy is not an emergency or crisis-response service, and phone, email, text, and website messages are not monitored continuously. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or need immediate support, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If there is an immediate danger to you or someone else, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Current clients should also follow the crisis and safety procedures reviewed during treatment, when applicable.

Your first session provides an opportunity to discuss what brings you to counseling, relevant history, current concerns, and your goals for therapy. We’ll also review important aspects of the counseling process and begin identifying a plan for your care. My goal is to help you feel safe, understood, and supported as we begin working together.

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency in the healing process. As progress continues, we may shift to biweekly sessions or as needed. We’ll decide together what schedule best supports your growth.

A counseling session typically lasts for 50 minutes, although session length may vary depending on your specific needs.  Every person’s journey is unique. Some clients meet for a few months, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll discuss your goals and determine the pace and duration that feel right for you.

Yes. Faith is at the foundation of my work. I believe healing is both emotional and spiritual, and I integrate biblical principles, prayer, and Scripture reflection when appropriate. Clients are always free to guide how much faith is incorporated into their sessions.

Yes. Faith and therapy are not opposites—they are complementary paths toward healing. God created our minds, bodies, and spirits to work in harmony. Evidence-based therapy offers structure and skill, while faith invites grace, truth, and transformation. When we bring both together, lasting healing becomes possible.

Because I am licensed in Texas, virtual counseling is generally provided when you are physically located in Texas at the time of your session. If you will be traveling or located outside of Texas, please let me know before your appointment so we can determine whether the session can legally and appropriately take place.

Yes, currently accepting most major commercial plans.

Coverage and benefits vary by individual plan. Insurance participation does not guarantee coverage for services. Please verify your behavioral health benefits before beginning treatment.

Private pay clients can expect to pay:

  • Initial Psychotherapy Evaluation $125
  • Individual Session $115

Sliding Scale opportunities may be available.

If you are uninsured or choose not to use insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your counseling services under the No Surprises Act.

A Good Faith Estimate will be provided as required when services are scheduled or upon request. If your final bill is $400 or more above your Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to use the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.

For more information about your rights, visit the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ No Surprises information page.

At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to the fee outlined in your informed-consent and financial policies.

If severe weather, natural disaster, civil unrest, or another emergency makes travel unsafe, an in-person session may be converted to telehealth or rescheduled without a cancellation fee, when appropriate.

The first step is scheduling a complimentary 15-minute virtual consultation. This brief meeting gives us an opportunity to discuss your goals, answer general questions, and determine whether my services may be a good fit for your needs. All prospective-client consultations are scheduled through Headway.
